Christmas Shop

Christmas Shop (BBC Learning English/London Life)

In New Zealand, not so many shops begun Christmas sale but we can see the TV commercials about Christmas shopinng. It is Octorber. I think that it's too early to buy things about christmas.

By the way, in Japan, christmas is very different from Western countories. In Western countries, Christmas day is a kind of religious day and many people spend time with their families. But many Japanese people spend the day with their friends or thieir lovers. Especially, almost all singles want to spend the day with their boy or girl friends. These people will reserve an expensive room in a famous hotel and spend the night with someone they loves. Many Western people probably feel strange or ludicurous. I think Japanese chiristmas is strange, too. But Christmas in Japan doesn't have religous meaning!
