Mauger、RWC終了後はイングランドへ！

今日は、先日買ったスーパー14の雑誌について書こうかと思っていたら、こんなニュースが！

It looks like the post Rugby World Cup exodus may have started already as Aaron Mauger announced on Monday he would move his rugby career overseas.

The 26-year-old has signed a two and a half year contract with Leicester that begins in December.

と、いうことで、ラグビーワールドカップ終了後、Aaron Maugerはイングランドに移籍することがきまったようです。びっくり！

移籍先はLeicesterで、契約は2年半。

The 38-Test veteran said he expected his stint in England to be temporary rather than permanent.

"I'd also love to finish my career with Canterbury and if I'm still playing well enough possibly have a crack at the 2011 World Cup."

と、いうことで、あくまでも期間限定での移籍であり、契約終了後はまたニュージーランドに戻るつもりらしいです。

しかし、こんなタイミングで言うべきことなんでしょうかね？なんだか、ワールドカップも始まらないうちに、終わったら…なんて話、どんなものかと思ってしまいますけどね。

しかし一方で、これから始まるスーパー14、ワールドカップ後もMaugerがいなくなるなら、ここは一発がんばって、レギュラーポジション、ゲットだぜ！みたいな感じで、士気があがるかなぁという気がしないでもないですけどね。

いずれにしても、決まった以上、（先の話ですが）Leicesterでもがんばって欲しいものです。
